Paradoxical Thoughts
Who among you are familiar with this Latin phrase. I recalled my first encounter with this word when I was in senior high school when it suddenly appeared in my exam paper back in my Literature class one time. I was totally clueless of what this Latin phrase entailed. Never have I thought that this two words would soon create a greater sense to me now that I grew wiser. SEIZE THE DAY, is what Carpe Diem simply means in plain English. It was taken from a poem written by Horace, a Roman lyric poet, entitled Odes, a collection of four books filled with lyric poems. [So much for recalling my lecture notes for that matter.] HAHA. We have to admit that sometimes life can be a little too fast. We're oftentimes blinded by the life that we are planning for ourselves that sometimes we tend to ignore what we have in the present. What if we wake up one day only to realize that our lives began twenty years ago and we just became oblivious because we are expecting our lives to turn out to be different? What if we just ignored all the opportunities and kept waiting? What if its too late and all that we have to do is to suck it all in? Sometimes having a mind set for the future can have its downsides too you know. Don't just sit there, DO SOMETHING! I learned something out of that Latin phrase, I want to appreciate my life more. With all my insignificant complaints and shortcomings aside, maybe I'm good to go. Hey I'm only seventeen. Hopefully the life that is destined for me is still out there. Carpe Diem taught me to thrive my hardest. We can never bring back the past nor take over the future right? Seize the day and place no trust for tomorrow. We can never achieve something in just plain waiting. Sometimes our actions can create a greater effect for us in the near future. They say it's always the NOW that matters. “Seize every opportunity that life offers you because, when opportunities go, they take a long time to come back.” As I type these words, I got myself thinking and I asked myself, when did life started to be scary. When I was young I thought life was all about the pursuit of fun. You find your place in the world and be contented with it. But when I grew up I learned that we can never find that place without hurting someone in the process. You look behind you before you jump and sometimes you never jump at all because there's this doubt that no one will catch you. There is no safety net in life. When did life stopped being fun? Mistakes are always inevitable. It's a part of life remember? But I believe our mistakes make our fate. Maybe if we had never change course with our direction and commit mistakes we will never be who we are right now. When today wasn't a great day, it's not a failure or terrible loss. It's just another day. Perfection is idealistic they say and it's true. Perfection is subjective. It depends on how we play the cards that we have at the moment. Perfection is how we deal in life. Today, it may sound absurd but I believe it will soon create a greater sense to me in the near future. Life's too complex for me to comprehend in just a day. I have tomorrow and the next day and the next day to do that. =] Guess the title now makes more sense. :))) |

Vanity isn't a sin, a little narcissm wouldn't hurt.Greetings stranger! If you ever by any chance stumble upon this little world that I created myself in the vast and tangled universe of the world wide web, consider yourself warned. I am extremely well known for being enigmatic and difficult to understand. I may seem detached and incapable of revealing my innermost feelings simply because I am oftentimes unable to do so. Perhaps philosophical at times and is interested in what we called the unexplained. Consider me as a little bit of everything all rolled into one. On some days I can be social, fun loving, outgoing and creative on one hand my personality is also contrasted with being sarcastic, moody and stubborn. So while some days will be a hit and others a miss hopefully but most days, will be and should be better than others. Nonetheless, read at your own risk. In short, WELCOME to Planet Oblivion! A small planet in the blogosphere universe. Help me in my quest in finding a deeper meaning on what lies beneath this planet's surface.
