Angels & Demons
Category: BooksI am still out of muse to write another sensible blog entry so for the time being, I will just focus on writing good reviews about anything under the sun. :)) Probably another highlight of my summer aside from seeing the two Davids live, is finally reading Angels & Demons. I know it is a little late of me to join the Dan Brown bandwagon but I can't help but become curious about Robert Langdon's controversial adventures. Surely the book didn't fail to amuse me with its well-thought out storyline, unexpected twists, breathtaking locations and his ingenious puzzle solving abilities. I can now consider Robert Langdon as one of my favorite fictional characters because of his vast knowledge on art, history, symbology, architecture and secret societies. Setting the book in the City of God while adding undertones of science, mystery and art is what makes Angels & Demons truly compelling. The narrative is simple yet it digs out theories and arguments about the God, about Science and their relentless battle about the meaning of life. All of a sudden readers will be drawn into the undying controversy of the whole Science vs. Religion thing once again --- both presented in their equal justice. Beginning with the Antimatter, a new science discovery expected to make breakthrough in our lives. When the Antimatter got stolen from the CERN laboratory in a threat to destroy the Holy City of the Vatican, Robert Langdon found himself caught up in chase against time in finding missing cardinals, solving cryptic poetry, visiting unknown catacombs, all before the strike of midnight. With the resurgence of a long forgotten brotherhood that swore to take the church down said to infiltrate all the things we see, all is not what Robert seems to think. Without a doubt, Brown's magic in weaving a spellbinding story made reading Angels & Demons beyond exciting. His mission to use his books as a springboard sure paid off with Angels & Demons as it raised different concepts about religious elements and the people's faith today. Crafted in a way that will make readers wonder what's going to happen next, you will definitely have a hard time putting this book down. The characters are alive on every page and the writing was elaborate altogether with the settings which was pictured vividly. Readers will sure going to be transported alongside Langdon all over Rome in his quest to discover the real culprit behind the unimaginable crime ongoing in Vatican. Despite Dan Brown's inhuman pace of characters (Langdon seldom eats throughout the rest of the novel), this book is just perfect for my taste. With unexpected twists here and there, readers will no doubt going to be compelled enough from start to finish. Indeed another one of those books that you should include in your "to read again" list. |

Vanity isn't a sin, a little narcissm wouldn't hurt.Greetings stranger! If you ever by any chance stumble upon this little world that I created myself in the vast and tangled universe of the world wide web, consider yourself warned. I am extremely well known for being enigmatic and difficult to understand. I may seem detached and incapable of revealing my innermost feelings simply because I am oftentimes unable to do so. Perhaps philosophical at times and is interested in what we called the unexplained. Consider me as a little bit of everything all rolled into one. On some days I can be social, fun loving, outgoing and creative on one hand my personality is also contrasted with being sarcastic, moody and stubborn. So while some days will be a hit and others a miss hopefully but most days, will be and should be better than others. Nonetheless, read at your own risk. In short, WELCOME to Planet Oblivion! A small planet in the blogosphere universe. Help me in my quest in finding a deeper meaning on what lies beneath this planet's surface.
